MahaMandi-2020 "Madhubani Painting"

Madhubani is situated in Bihar and is the most important city of the Mithila Kingdom. Madhubani means " Forest of honey". This form of painting originated at the time of Sita's marriage when King Janak ordered the artist of the village to depict the marriage ceremony. This form of painting remained at the backdoors for ages and was brought to the world in the mid 19th century. But still lacks its recognition and credit in the global platform.  

This video is an attempt to make Madhubani paintings visible globally. Information provided in this video is to make people realize the heritage and craft associated with this form of painting.
