Blog writing using 4 P's of Marketing

Writing a blog is an easy task, but getting traffic is altogether a different ball game. Everyone today looks to get digitally visible, and among billions of blogs getting yourself highlighted is not an easy task. But is also not Rocket science.  So let's look at how you can do this with a simple application of 4P's of marketing.

You could refer to "Philip Kotler's" Marketing book to have a deep understanding of 4P of marketing. Without wasting much time lets dive into this technique and understand how it can be implemented.

1) Product

First, you need to understand why you are writing a blog. This will not only bring the clarity of thoughts but also help you choose the right information and methodology to highlight the things you want to emphasize. This will help you determine whom you are writing to.

Readers will come to you only if you have something unique to tell them, inform them, or make them aware of.

And here’s more to make your product buyer-friendly:

Quantity does not beat quality: While frequent postings may help you go up the search rankings, don’t do it for the sake of doing so. Ask yourself if anyone would care to read what you are writing. Post once or twice a week if need be but ensure it is quality writing. You don’t want to turn away readers or bury your good pieces under the debris.

Is it unique? your content is valuable only if it is unique. “A combination of originality and quality works beautifully—it takes you higher up on the search engines,"

Is your content ‘buzzworthy’? A positive buzz will get people talking about you and send links and traffic your way.

2) Promotion

Not every best product sells itself, you need to promote it to begin the chain reaction. If it does sell by itself today no-sells job existed, even Apple product needs promotion and branding. So do the right promotion.

Get other sites to link to you: Other sites will link to you only if your content is good—period," says Amit Agarwal, a professional blogger whose three-year-old blog Digital Inspiration figures in Technorati’s Top 100 globally.

A social media strategy: Sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and many such are a great place to start your promotions, if the content is good it will start the chain reaction and will go viral as COVID did.

Grab all the free ad spots to publicize your blog: These include your visiting cards, email signatures, letterheads, mobile messages, bumper stickers, and other such communication. Let your daily emails end with a prompt to a recent post of yours relevant to the recipient.

Be proactive: Respond to all those who leave comments on your blog or seek further information—make their effort seem valuable. Let them feel a part of your blog community—and they will tell other people about you.

The title of your post matters: A simple yet overlooked factor that makes a big difference. “Most people read blogs on RSS (really simple syndication) feeds.

3) Place

It's as simple as it seems, if the product is available at once doorsteps it's highly likely they will start using it someday. So make your blog easily accessible and searchable for others.

4) The 4th ‘P’

It is usually the price, but the content being free on blogs is almost a given. At the same time, the fourth P is relevant for adding other ingredients to the marketing mix.

So here we can modify the 4th P for "Passion", be passionate about what you write, have confidence in your content, and try to give your best every time. Success will follow eventually.

Shanti Mantra !!

The Shanti Mantras means peace Mantras is Hindu prayer for Peace, generally use at the beginning or end of religious rituals.

om dyau shaantirantarikshan shaanti,

prthvee shaantiraap shaantiroshadhay shaanti.

vanaspatay shaantirvishve deva shaantirbrahm shaanti,

om shaanti shaanti shaanti.

Meaning:

ॐ द्यौ: शान्तिरन्तरिक्षँ शान्ति:,

May harmony transmit there in the entire sky just as in the tremendous ethereal all over the place.

पृथ्वी शान्तिराप: शान्तिरोषधय: शान्ति: ।

may harmony rule all over this world, in water and in all herbs, trees, and creepers

वनस्पतय: शान्तिर्विश्वे देवा: शान्तिर्ब्रह्म शान्ति:,

May harmony stream over the entire universe. May harmony be in the supreme Being Brahman.

सर्वँ शान्ति:, शान्तिरेव शान्ति:, सा मा शान्तिरेधि ॥

Also, may there consistently exist in al harmony and harmony alone.

ॐ शान्ति: शान्ति: शान्ति: ॥

Our harmony, harmony, and harmony to us all creatures!

Shanti mantras are regularly recited on Siddha Yoga path to nurture our awareness of the supreme peace that exists within all of us, regardless of our external circumstances, This practice, in turn, supports us to take action to cultivate peace in our daily lives, in our communities, and on our shared planet.

In our Business communication class, our professor Shri T. Prasad popularly known as (1/12) Mandi sir, gave us this mantra and communicated it's importance to us. He signified the importance of a peaceful mind in business communication and how a peaceful mind can achieve its goals.

  • What are the benefits of Shanti Mantra?
Shanti mantra streamlines and improves all the real capacities and empowers the diverse interior organs to work up to their ideal limits. At the point when recited, the Shanti mantra can soothingly affect the psyche and lead to profound unwinding.

  • When is Shanti mantra chanted?

It is advisable that you chant the Shanti mantra during the early morning hours between 6 am and 8 am so that you can stay calm throughout the day.

  • What is the significance of this mantra?
Through Shanti mantra, we look for assurance from three scorchers of the idea of :

  1. The Inconvenience caused 'inside' oneself at the body level and psyche level
  2. The inconvenience brought about by observed substances for example people around us.
  3. The inconvenience brought about by 'inconspicuous'.

Shanti mantra is very powerful and miraculous and said to bring your inner self to the world, it helps you become calm and think properly without distractions. It brings out your creativity, breaks obstacles, and allows issue to calm down.

I will urge everyone to practice Shanti mantra daily in the morning and see the changes in their life themself.

Business communication and its Implication in consulting.

Nikhil first talked about the importance of Microsoft tools such as, word, excel, PowerPoint in one's career in corporate life. He pointed out the importance of business communication in presenting one's idea to the team using these soft skills. He emphasized on various aspect of communication and tools that needed for that. For example:
  • Proposals- PowerPoint or words.
  • Reports- PowerPoint or word.
  • Executive Briefing- PowerPoint.
  • Detailed Project Report- Word
  • Work Papers-Excel or words.
He then talked in very detail about creating your own brand, he gave the example of "M S Dhoni" to demonstrate the ability and impact of creating his own brand. As just by looking at jersey number 7 we can identify that it is M.S. Dhoni, people should recognize us just by our name.

He further went on to demonstrate how we should structure our communication. For which he gave us "The Pyramid Principle". Where you first identify the objective of your document, identify our audience, further knowing what is the context in which this content will be consumed, and finally checking all aspects of the problem has been addressed or not. He talked about the (MECE) method i.e. mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive method.

He further recommended a book called "How to write Reports and proposal" by Patrick Forsyth to help us understand the insight into business communication.

Mr. Nikhil further continued his talk by walking us through how to make an impact. He said only impactful slides without deep research never cut the ice with an experienced audience. So it is important that you have the right mix of content and impact in your output. He mentioned that is the biggest gain we are going to get from an MBA (Making an impact using your presentation is less about content and more about how you present the content).

He gave a few tips and tricks for us to make a higher impact during presentations:
  • A startling statistic or image.
  • A quotation from someone famous that is relevant to your presentation.
  • A video to grab attention.
  • A question
  • An Activity.
He closed with a remark of " Our ideas should stand out of the crowd".

This guest lecture was made possible by our NITIE professor T. Prasad famously known as 1/12 Mandi sir.

I am attaching the link of his youtube channel, which highlights his philosophy of teaching and learning.

MahaMandi- Vocal For Local "Madhubani Painting"

 Swadeshi-Mandi (लोकल पर वोकल)

2020

Madhubani Painting.

On the auspicious occasion of 74th Independence day, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai with Marketing Interest Group (MIG) in the supervision of 1/12 Mandi sir is organizing "Swadeshi mandi" with a very swadeshi theme of "Vocal for Local".

The idea behind this event is to promote local cultures and traditions throughout the country and give them a platform to be visible at a global level. This idea is a brainchild of our own Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. To make his vision fruitful and feasible our professor 1/12 Mandi sir came with this idea to organize this event.

Event poster for swadeshi mandi.

Every student was given the task of identifying one local thing from their native places which they see has business opportunities associated with it. Which can provide employment to local people and has future aspects associated with it. They were tasked to make a poster to sell that product, make a video of the product showing it's significance, importance, and potential. They were also tasked to promote the product through an online campaign and become vocal for that local product.

This was a very unique idea and concept of teaching business communication through practical application. Students of NITIE took this vision of 1/12 mandi sir with great enthusiasm and came up with great concepts, posters, and promotion. In this blog, I'll be talking about the local product I choose to make global.

Madhubani Painting:

Madhubani is situated in Bihar and is the most important city of the Mithila Kingdom. Madhubani means " Forest of honey". This form of painting originated at the time of Sita's marriage when King Janak ordered the artist of the village to depict the marriage ceremony. This form of painting remained at backdoors for ages and was brought to the world in the mid 19th century. But still lacks its recognition and credit in the global platform.

This form of painting uses two-dimensional imagery, and colors used are derived from plants and flowers. Themes generally revolve around Hindu deities. Paintings are characterized by the bold and vibrant use of color and traditional geometric patterns. Traditionally no space is left empty, gaps are filled with colors and flowers.

In his monthly Mann ki Baat radio address, Prime minister Narendra Modi lauded the women self-help groups in Bihar for making masks depicting Madhubani paintings. These masks have gained popularity during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Modi said, "This Madhubani mask not only propagates tradition but also provides employment to the people ensuring health and safety."

Madhubani painting printed masks.

On the same line with our Prime Minister, we are planning to make this local form of art global, in form of printed t-shirts, backpacks, cushion covers, bed sheets, wall paintings, etc. For which we are designing the online campaign to market this product. Here is the poster of the same which we are going to present at “Swadeshi-mandi” 2020.
