MahaMandi-2020: Inauguration
on the auspicious occasion of
Independence day
This year on the 16th edition of NITIE's annual marketing fest "MahaMandi", inaugurated on the auspicious day of Independence. To mark the inauguration of MahaMandi Dr. Abhay jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of education, and Mr. Apeksha Haldia, NITI Alumna, Founder Zayka ka Tadka were present as chief guests. NITIE director Prof. Manoj k. Tiwari along with convenor MahaMandi Prof. T Prasad and MIG professor in charge Prof. Neeraj Pandey were also present to greet and highlight the relevance of the MahaMandi event.

Dr. Abhay Jere:
Dr. Abhay Jere.
Dr. Abhay Jere is the Chief Innovation Officer for the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. He gave insight into various aspects of our countries growth and innovation. He mentioned how countries like China and the USA are much ahead of us in innovation, as they filled 13+lakh and 6+ lakh patents respectively last year in comparison to India only filled 40k patent during same time period. He emphasized becoming a job creator rather than job seekers.
He lauded the PM's vision of a 5 trillion economy in the coming year. He said every ministry in the centre is working toward this dream, and it will be only possible if we start innovating and start creating jobs. He also lauded MahaMandi for having such futuristic vision 15 years ago, which our beloved PM is very vocal about "Vocal for Local". He encouraged students of NITIE to take challenges and come up with their own ventures to create jobs and make India a 5 trillion economy.
Miss Apeksha Haldia:
Miss. Apeksha Haldia is a NITIE alum, graduated in the year 2009. She worked as a business manager in Procter and Gamble (P&G) for a brief period, after which she went on to study at University of Washington. She got multiple offers to work with various USA based companies, but she was looking at a huge opportunity in the Indian market. She came back and founded Zayka ka Tadka along with her mother in year 2016. She is currently having more than 4 lakh subscribers on her Youtube channel.
She encouraged us to take challenges and look for opportunities around us. She also mentioned how the business communication course and Mandi event changed her thinking and perspective. She shared her experience of going out on the street and selling products during the Mandi event.
Mandi Sir:
Prof. T Prasad is widely known as Mandi Sir, who gave his lessons to students and his experience so far organizing Mandi event. His slogan " Socho, Becho, Seekho" is widely popular among students. He encourages entrepreneurial ability in students. He talked about the importance of our PM Narendra Modi Ji's vision "Vocal for Local".
He encouraged us to take the challenge of starting their own venture and promote it to reach the right audience, he talked about the importance of business communication, and also talked about how this event is going to help each student in their journey ahead either it be in any firm or their own startups.
